Kids are experts at x box games making parents feel like they are the only ones saying 'no' x box games to a certain game. The x box games fact is that a majority of parents (53%) say they "never" allow their children to play M-rated games, while another 37% of parents say they "sometimes allow" it. Further, as you'll read in this edition of our newsletter, 7 out of 10 parents check the ratings all or most of the time before purchasing a game. In other words, parents should not feel alone. Today, more than ever before, the overwhelming majority of parents are using the rating system and making informed decisions about which games are appropriate for their kids. Make no mistake, these can be tough choices. But as computer and video games continue to advance in terms of sophisticated story lines, complexity in game play, and graphic quality, it's important to stay proactive and involved in making those choices. The average age of a gamer today is 30, and although only 12% of the games we rated last year were rated M (Mature) for 17 years and older, you can be assured that not all games are intended or appropriate for your kids.
