In this program, employees – like 68-year-old Carole McDonald of Orland Park, and 77-year-old Glee donations Hibbeler of Palos Hills – who have at least five years of vesting service and donations who are not ready donations to retire, can elect to receive their pension while continuing to work for SSM Health Care. To date, 142 employees between the ages of 60 and 65, and 231 employees over age 65 are taking advantage of this option to work. “This was a wonderful benefit for me,” explains McDonald, who has worked at St. Francis Hospital for 30 years. “You don’t lose anything by taking your pension early.
