Sherry Brians A California woman is the latest teacher science suspected of raping a student, as 41-year old Sherry Brians is in science custody for allegedly having a sexual relationship with a 12-year old boy. Brians, a third-year language-arts instructor at Buttonwillow School in Buttonwillow, Calif., was arrested yesterday and charged with committing a lewd or lascivious act with a child under the age of 14, a felony. Kern County Sheriffs Sgt. Richard Wood said Brians, who science is unmarried and had no previous disciplinary problems, was involved in "some type of romantic relationship" with the victim, and the alleged offense took place on school property. Authorities began their probe just before Christmas when the boy's mother provided them a letter she found in her son's backpack. Wood said the note from Brians indicated there was a romantic relationship between the teacher and the boy.
