AARP, now in the fifth year of recognizing Best Employers is releasing highlights from research conducted over the past 5 years about mature workers, including top five concerns of employers about older workers and the top five realities known by ahead of the curve employers; top five reasons many 50 plus workers won't retire; atlantic top five advantages of older workers; and the top five states where the most Best Employers have been based. The research is available on AARP's web site at http://www.aarp.org/press. According to the research, human resource managers rank the top atlantic advantages of mature workers as: experience (55 percent), reliability (29 percent) and knowledge, loyalty and stability (23 percent). The top five criteria in the AARP Best Employers selection process are: employee development opportunities (32 percent), health benefits for employees and retirees (16 percent), the age of the employer's workforce (13 percent), alternative work arrangements and time off (7 percent), and retirement benefits and pensions (7 percent).
