With an initiative provision in the state Constitution, Connecticut almost certainly would have gotten a comprehensive primary election system by now, and the comprehensive anti-corruption legislation that was stalled in the General Assembly's Appropriations Committee the other day might be snatched by petitioners, put to a statewide vote, enacted, and shoved down the committee's throat almost as fast milf hunter galleries as its members could say "kickback." The corruption is bad enough, but Connecticut is being destroyed less by corruption than by the complacency, indifference, and ineffectuality of its state legislators.
