Yet again, the quoted sources talk about people being embarrassed to buy sex toys over the counter. They also mention the "porn association" and how these machines get away from that. It sounds to me like a lot of vendors mention hbo home video the embarrassment as a way to reinforce that embarrassment, hbo home video because the more embarrassed people are, the more likely they'll stealth-buy from places like vending machines. But that's silly because even if you don't live in an enlightened city, you still have plenty of "clean, well-lighted" places to buy sex playthings online without any embarrassment or porn in your face. Not that I'm bashing the vending machines. They're handy for impulse buys and grabbing a little extra something without having to wait for delivery or traveling to another store.
