Don't quote me for exact numbers, but the 16 year old (yo) band sex with 12 year old is two years so an 18 yo can have legal sex with a 16 yo, but a 19 yo will a statutory rapist. The 15 yo band is one year and the 14 yo band is the same year, if you follow. |

This is misleading at best. Secondly, should there be statutory rape laws which pertain to juveniles? And at what age? And at what punishment? I've always thought that it was wrong for an 18 year old to be a considered clinton i did not have sex with that woman a rapist if the partner is 17. Seems arbitrary. However, 18 and 12 seems rather vile (though I know more than a few women who were in that situation). You raise a good point but use a terrible example and, as always, offer no real solutions. |
