| but fear, says Lynn Ponton, a professor gleaner of clinical psychiatry at the University of California at San Francisco and author of The Sex Lives of Teenagers: Revealing the Secret World of Adolescent Boys and Girls. "Just look at what words teens gleaner use to describe sex," says Ponton. "Today, it's 'hooking up,' which is a casual term that [teens] use to make sex less frightening.
