Apparently, as long as you don't search for pesky things like civil rights, bill orielly you can buy all the sex, drugs, and scams you bill orielly want. The funny part is that the writer lists a number of "bad" sites, most of which are scams so obvious anyone who falls for bill orielly them probably deserves it. One listing is about a $2/month adult webcam community, though, which could be a legitimate offer. Young singles predominate, and most people online are searching for entertainment. ("What do people do every day other than make money? They entertain themselves.") Meanwhile, the 30,000 members of the internet patrol can't keep up, and profits from illegal websites makes the "government-owned Internet service providers, telecommunications companies and even state-run Web sites" disinclined to shut them down. |

Where things get a little more interesting is that Cole's lawyer has contacted Google, wanting to know why when users search for "Ashley Cole", Google suggests "see results for "Ashley Cole gay". ... seems like it's only a matter of time before Google gets hit with a lawsuit for something like this, given that it's a big target and the increasing scrutiny under which how it guards the privacy of its users is coming. We're going to have to stop worrying about this sort of thing and what Other People Think, now that all kinds of information is available on each of us -- information that might be wrong, intentionally or otherwise. |
